Enlighten Your Hometown and Your Home (Turkey)

Graduate Women International’s (GWI) Girls’ Education for Brighter Futures project supports GWI’s work to advance safe access to quality education and lifelong learning for women and girls at both the community and international levels. Through the project, GlobalGiving donors support a continuum of work, from locally led educational projects to international advocacy aimed at securing lasting commitments to the education rights of women and girls.

GlobalGiving contributions help make possible concrete educational initiatives, including GWI’s Bina Roy Partners in Development projects, which are developed and implemented by GWI members in response to needs identified in their communities. These projects address barriers to education through initiatives such as literacy and skills training, menstrual health support, digital learning, health education, and other practical measures that expand educational opportunities for women and girls.

Donor support also contributes to GWI’s international advocacy for the right to education. Drawing on more than a century of experience and its United Nations Economic and Social Council Special Consultative Status, GWI brings the educational priorities and experiences of women and girls to international policy discussions. This includes preparing and submitting written statements to United Nations mechanisms, participating in UNnited Nations sessions and consultations, and advocating for policies that advance equal access to education and lifelong learning.
