Girls Education for Brighter Futures

Dear GWI Supporters,

Graduate Women International (GWI) thanks our donors for supporting the Girls’ Education for Brighter Futures project. Your contributions, including monthly recurring donations of USD 15–30, continue to support locally led educational initiatives, advocacy campaigns, and educational outreach activities advancing the education rights of women and girls across communities and regions worldwide.

This includes supporting Bina Roy Partners in Development projects. GWI is currently reviewing applications for the 2026–2027 funding cycle, including locally led initiatives such as Cycle of Dignity: Education, Menstrual Health, and Female Entrepreneurship in Benin, and Women’s Empowerment through Education and Income Generation Activities in Nepal. These projects connect education with health awareness, skills development, and economic participation for women and girls.

To advance its 2025 policy resolution 6to protect the world’s peatlands, the Canadian Federation of University Women hosted the educational webinar Climate Mitigation: Peatlands of the World, which explored the relationship between environmental sustainability, education, and public awareness. Furthering its international advocacy work, GWI also released an International Girls in ICT Day campaign in English and Spanish highlighting the importance of girls’ participation in education, technology, and emerging digital sectors.

GWI remains committed to addressing barriers to education and lifelong learning through international advocacy and educational initiatives and your donations support all of the efforts of GWI’s global network. We thank you.

In 2025, donor support strengthened advocacy for girls’ right to education, reinforced National Federations and Associations, and supported targeted initiatives addressing gender-based violence and access to skills development through the Bina Roy Partners in Development (BRPID) programme.

The recent round of BRPID projects came from GWI affiliates in Uganda, El Salvador, Nepal, Senegal, and Egypt, Turkey, and your support fuelled their work. Egypt improved health through nutrition and education; Uganda trained participants on making reusable sanitary pads; Senegal reforested trees and promoted recycling; El Salvador trained women in AI tools; Nepal offered literacy and savings courses; and Turkey empowered female students as role models. These projects, now completed with your funding, have left a lasting impact for thousands of beneficiaries, strengthening affiliates’ capacity. In 2026, GWI will continue supporting educational programs and international advocacy resources to overcome barriers to education, building a future where women and girls can learn, lead, and thrive.
