Dear GWI Supporters,
Graduate Women International (GWI) extends our heartfelt gratitude to our generous donors for your continued support of the Girls’ Education for Brighter Futures project. Your contributions are making a profound impact on young girls' lives by ensuring they have access to education and the resources needed to succeed.
Celebrating the International Day of Education
On 24 January, GWI proudly observed the International Day of Education, emphasizing the power of education to empower women and girls at all stages of life. This year, addressing the theme AI and Education: Human Agency in an Automated World, we released an insightful infographic highlighting the barriers many girls face in accessing education, including AI biases. Your support helps us address these challenges and advocate for inclusive, quality education worldwide.

Spotlight: Bina Roy Partners in Development (BRPID) – Uganda
As part of our broader commitment to girls’ education, we highlight the incredible work being carried out through the BRPID project in Uganda, titled: “Training Adolescents, Teachers, and Parents in Luuka District in Making Reusable Sanitary Pads.”
With your generous support, this project is improving the personal health of women and girls, teaching them skills that provide new sources of income, and increasing school retention rates for girls in the Luuka District, Eastern Uganda. By training adolescents, teachers, and parents to make reusable sanitary pads, this initiative not only addresses a significant challenge to girls’ school attendance but also promotes sustainability and economic empowerment.
The project is operated by the Association of University Women Uganda (AUWU) in partnership with the District Education Officer (DEO), District Health Officer (DHO), and other local leaders. They will play a key role in mobilizing the community for training and promoting the project. The Busoga Kingdom, under the Ministry for Gender, Children & Family Affairs, will be involved in implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. To learn more about the project click HERE.
Thanks to your generosity, GWI continues to support educational programs that equip girls with knowledge and skills while producing international advocacy resources to raise awareness about barriers to education and influence local, national, and international policies.
We deeply appreciate your dedication to our mission and invite you to continue supporting our work.
With sincere gratitude,
Stacy Dry Lara
