Support hospitality and tourism communities that have less access to the most basic dental healthcare.
Neglecting oral hygiene can present obstacles to career advancement for front office workforce working in hospitality and tourism industry for various reasons. Negative associations with discolored or missing teeth. Poor representation for the company, particularly in client-facing positions such as receptionnists, tour guides, travel agents, etc. Assumptions made about self-discipline, with the individuals potentially being perceived as lazy or making poor lifestyle choices.
A person's smile has the power to convey confidence, enthusiasm, and friendliness, qualities that employers value in employees. We are joining efforts with local partners to ensure basic human rights are met for our beneficiaries. Community education is imperative in ensuring dental health equity. This can be achieved through community outreaches to counter harmful practices which worsen oral health and suggest healthy food with high nutritional value for healthy teeth.
Looking at poverty only through a monetary lens, we risk leaving behind millions of people who experience food insecurity, unemployment, inadequate housing, poor sanitation, lack of healthcare, limited access to education, and many more deprivation.
