AWARD Pakistan has successfully raised USD 20,489 to install hand pumps and water wells in Tehsil Balakot, District Mansehra, providing safe drinking water to four vulnerable communities. These areas previously relied on contaminated river water, causing widespread illness, especially among children. Thanks to this intervention, nearly 8,000 residents, including women and children, now have access to clean water, leading to a significant drop in waterborne diseases.
According to Mr. Mustafa, the project’s social mobilizer, the community has embraced the facilities with care and responsibility. However, donations have slowed down in the past quarter, making it challenging to reach more communities in need. AWARD aims to expand this life-saving initiative to six additional mountainous villages, where families continue to suffer due to unsafe water sources.
We appeal to our donors and supporters to stand with us once again to ensure that no child or woman in these remote areas is left without access to safe, clean drinking water.
