Dear donors,
There are currently 3,643 total cases in Benin.
The institutions, since last October, have closed borders and imposed a mandatory buffer to enter and exit.
Travel was limited, and many activities closed. The market, which was the only livelihood for many families, was also closed.
The government also announced the closure of schools and any day care center for children.
In our hospital structure they have all been activated to guarantee the safety and the management of eventual cases with departments dedicated exclusively to patients covid-19 and they are proceeding the intense activities of construction of the department of neonatology.
We continue together to support "The Embrace in Sokponta" so that we can provide local people with this essential service, now more than ever we need your help to be able to buy all the devices and medical equipment needed.
Finally, we would like to share with you that in collaboration with the local referents you are thinking, at a later time, to also start a surgery department.
To date, if childbirth presents complications that require surgery, the hospital must send patients "to the hospital in Dassa-Zoumé", while it would be much more functional that the wards were adjacent.
