This project will provide funding to cover the spay/neuter medical expenses for 100 Bull Terriers in the US in 2020. This will allow Bull Terrier rescues to allocate funds and resources to meet other pressing medical needs expressed by these dogs: including skin disease, malnutrition and physical trauma.
In 2019, there were over 600 documented Bull Terriers rescued from being surrendered or abandoned. Most of these dogs were in dire need of medical attention: including skin ailments, malnutrition, and trauma requiring surgery. Additionally, most of these dogs required spay or neuter. Rescues generally will not place a dog in a home until the dog has been "fixed."
HBTW plans to provide funding to any rescue to cover the spay/neuter medical expenses for 100 Bull Terriers in the US in 2020. By providing spay/neuter relief, rescues will be able to allocate funds to address other pressing medical needs for these rescued Bull Terriers.
This project will not only provide rescues with additional funding, but will also contribute to lowering unwanted pet population, curtailing unwanted pet behaviors, reducing the health risks to the pet and community populations, and promote good pet ownership.
