Healing Through Nutrition, Communities That Endure

By Chamos | Project Coordinator

At Chamos, we work actively to transform the nutritional reality of children in Venezuela. To do this, we join efforts with local leaders both in ongoing care programs and in immediate emergency response. Between January and June 2026, through our Nutritional Recovery Program, we ensured monthly care for an average of 95 children and 15 mothers, achieving the successful clinical discharge of 30 children during this period. In direct collaboration with specialist physicians, we ensure rigorous monitoring of their progress through anthropometric assessments, since the recovery of an infant or young child is inseparable from their immediate environment. Guided by this vision, we promote a comprehensive approach that involves the entire family unit in the process and extends this ongoing monitoring to both the mothers and siblings of our primary beneficiaries.

In addition, in response to the contingency caused by the earthquake on June 24, 2026, our community monitoring through local partners has enabled the organization to respond quickly and deploy critical actions addressing a range of pressing needs. We expanded our reach to bring assistance to communities such as Catia La Mar, Ciudad Caribia, and Anare, as well as to various hospitals and emergency shelters. With a firm commitment to protecting the most vulnerable groups, we distributed essential medical supplies, more than 40 water filters, and 180 units of infant formula, successfully complementing the efforts of other organizations responding to the emergency.

Our work never stops, and every resource counts to keep saving lives. We invite you to join this effort and help transform the future of hundreds of families: to support Chamos's nutrition programs and emergency response actions in Venezuela, click on this link https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/chamos-emergency-response/
