Beit Jala Hospital, the West Bank's only public pediatric oncology and chronic disease center, is under siege by power cuts, medicine shortages and funding cuts due to the October 2023 conflict. The project "Health Under Siege" will supply medicines, equipment, fuel and funds to keep lifesaving treatments running. Trauma informed counseling and play therapy will help children and families cope with trauma and restore hope. Support this lifeline.
Beit Jala Hospital in the West Bank is the sole public pediatric center for childhood cancer and chronic illnesses. Since October 2023, recurrent power outages, critical medicine shortages, slashed funding, and escalating psychological trauma among children have pushed services to the brink. Without urgent aid, lifesaving treatments and vital emotional support for these vulnerable children will collapse.
Soleterre will equip Beit Jala Hospital with essential medicines, medical supplies, fuel for generators, and direct operational funding to sustain pediatric oncology and chronic disease services. Our psychosocial team will provide trauma informed counseling, play therapy, and family support to address urgent mental health needs. By combining medical aid with emotional care, we ensure uninterrupted, holistic treatment despite ongoing conflict.
This project will prevent treatment interruptions and reduce preventable deaths among children with cancer and chronic illnesses by ensuring continuous access to therapies and hospital services. Trauma informed psychosocial support will build resilience in patients, strengthening emotional wellbeing. Supporting Beit Jala Hospital preserves the West Bank's only public pediatric oncology center and fortifies local health infrastructure for future crises.
