Hello :)
We would like to share the story of Jecol, an 8-year old boy we met during our health brigade in Barú last year.
During the brigade, Jecol was diagnosed with an inguinal hernia and phimosis. Conditions that required surgical intervention and were affecting his well-being and quality of life.
Thanks to your support, Jecol was recently brought to Medellín, where he was able to undergo the surgery he needed. The procedure was successfully completed, and he also received medical follow-up before returning home.
Today, Jecol is back in Barú, continuing his recovery surrounded by his family. His journey reflects the importance of going beyond the brigade itself, ensuring that children not only receive a diagnosis, but also the treatment they need to live healthier lives.
While Jecol has already received his surgery, other children identified during the brigade are still waiting to access the care they need.
Thank you for helping us bring hope, healing, and continued care to children in remote communities.
With gratitude,
