Proyecto La Nueva Esperanza continues to have a challenging time meeting the needs of our seniors. Our participants are low-income elderly and the economy and their daily expenses have impacted their lives in a negative way.
Our organization continues distributing meals on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Our goal is that by 12:30 pm all of our 50 participants have received their meals. The homes are our participants are somewhat far from each other and the driver must secure the best routes to get their meals on time. In addition, the driver will report to us if any participant has a new challenge so we can take any action required.
From July to October 2025, our program distributed 2,466 meals to the homes of 50 participants. We were also able to assist the community with 85 emergency bags of food so they can prepare their meals. Some of these families, referred to us by another local agency, are unemployed or with small children. The break-down of Federal food programs will not help.
These meals are probably just a drop on the bucket, because of our limited funds, however, we were able to assist some of these families in need.
We appreciate any help you can give us to continue our programs, donors are very important to our organization.
