The courage of Sair's heart

By Alba Luz Arroyave | Project Leader

Sair is a baby with 8 months, born with congenital heart disease or malformation in his heart, who was diagnosed at two months of age. He was born in La Apartada, Cordoba; a municipality located in northern of Colombia and was in a Monteria hospital for 2 months. Four months ago he was remitted to our Children's Hospital San Vicente Fundacion because of the complexity of his pathology and so far he is improving with the help of our specialists.

Upon arriving at our Hospital, he received all the necessary attention, including surgery that required his heart, in which he did very well and with which his parents, Leidy and Carlos, managed to be calmer. His mother says: "Thank you so much for everything you have done for my son, you have treated him very well and better than in the other hospitals".

So far Sair is stable in his state of health and has evolved in his process thanks to the respiratory therapies he is receiving in our Hospital since he had a complication in his left lung. This gives Sair more reasons to get up stronger and want to keep fighting.

Between songs and smiles, Sair interacts with his mother showing him that he is a brave child, full of strength and love. With your help, you allow more children with congenital heart disease such as Sair to have access to the best health services at our Children's Hospital.
