Project Report | Oct 16, 2020
Thanks to your contributions we made it!

By Laura Botero | Project Leader

Thanks to your contributions we made it! On May 14, 2019, the Santiago Corazón Children's Cardiac Unit, located on the fifth floor of our Fundación San Vicente Children's Hospital, was inaugurated to provide comprehensive care to children requiring surgery, intensive and special care, becoming the second specialized center Antioquia.

From the inauguration until mid-2020, the Unit has operated on 253 children with heart disease, with very positive results, thanks to a medical and nursing team specifically trained in surgery and cardio-infantile intensive care.

The Santiago Corazón Children's Unit had a cost of $ 9,212 million pesos, which were managed through donations in cash and in kind, during three years of work, which covered investments in staff training, physical work and equipment. This Unit has an operating room, an Intensive Care Unit and a Special Care Unit.

Through this report we want to thank you for contributing to the realization of this project, for our hospital it is very important to continue building spaces that benefit the population that needs it most.
