A full circle

Dear all,

Here we are, updating you on the important events that have happened at Mammadu in recent months. These months, in fact, have been largely characterized by the mid-school holidays, with our children and young people absent for several days, visiting their families near Windhoek. We don't like to praise ourselves, but this time, allow us to make an exception by bringing to your attention an article that the Sun, a Namibian newspaper, dedicated to Mammadu and its activities for young Namibians. An interview in which our founder, Agnes Albrecht, explains the reasons that led her to create Mammadu and those that drive us to move forward with ever greater conviction, certain that our work will bear fruit (and we've already seen some of it!!). It's wonderful, and by no means a given, to work in a country that appreciates our work and recognizes its importance.

Another important piece of news that fits perfectly with Mammadu's educational goals is that of our Petrus, who, during the suspension of his university activities, will be at Mammadu as an afternoon teacher for the younger children. A full circle, remembering Petrus, who first entered Mammadu at the age of 5 and now works for the Center.Meanwhile, Josia's adventure in South Africa continues, an adventure of academic and personal growth that we enjoy following and sharing with all of you who have been involved in realizing his dream. Josia is integrating perfectly into his university and, thanks above all to his great artistic abilities, which we know well, has managed to capture the attention of school administrators and classmates.

As always, we will also show you some of the activities that have engaged our children and young people, such as the trip to Grossbarman or the small daily activities for the children and the neighborhood, many aspects of daily life at Mammadu that we want to share with you, who support us from afar.Allow me also to extend a special thank you to Giulia and Francesco, a married couple who decided to donate to Mammadu in lieu of wedding favors, explaining their choice to their wedding guests with informational materials about our center. We were expecting them at Mammadu for a visit during their honeymoon in Namibia, but unfortunately, due to flight delays, they were unable to make it. We look forward to seeing them again with joy and gratitude.A heartfelt thank you once again to all of you for your generous support of our activities.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, all the children, and our precious staff, I wish you all a peaceful summer!
