One of five people in the world survive on less than $2.00 a day with no access to healthcare. This is more pronounced in 3rd world countries. We will provide healthcare for 10,000 people per year who do not have access for basic health needs. This includes diagnosis, treatment, medication, dental care, nutrition, care for homeless elderly, and education in basic hygiene in free standing clinic and villages. The goal is to enable these individuals to lead a healthier and more productive life.
Of the 8 million in Honduras, 1.3 million have no access to healthcare. In rural areas there is only 1 MD per 1,510 patients. Of these, only 1/8 can scrape enough money together for a health emergency. A Honduras health study states that a educated woman is less likely to die in childbirth, and more likely to send her children to school. In addition, an educated mother's risk is cut in half if she only attends primary school for education. All 4,000 patients and their children will benefit.
We will provide medical and dental care, nutrition, housing, education, basic hygiene tools and education to the under-served in Honduras, the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. We will teach the people how dirty water contributes to poor health. We will educate the people on what precautionary measures are needed to prevent this problem.
The project will provide medical care, dental care, nutrition, and vitamins to 4,000 under-served people of Honduras. This will provide their families with healthcare and make them more productive citizens and aid them in a productive life that is not possible while sick. This will improve the individuals' health and in turn improve the individuals' families lives, and in turn improve the community as a whole as the cycle repeats itself into a more educated one, from generation to generation.
