We have been meeting with the psychology department at the National University. This week the students and instructor came to the clinic and had a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the beginning of a great relationship and service to the Santa Ana children.
Impoverished children face many challenges that are very difficult to overcome. Hunger, abuse, and pressure from gang members in the local area and schools.
The students that will working during their internships met with the mayor and went to all the schools in the area to find children that needed counseling. They discussed troubled children with the teachers to get an idea of problem areas. The students also raised all the money needed to set up their office in the clinic. They are very motivated. The program will be supervised by the instructor at the University.
We are very excited to have this service available at the Clinic on a full time basis and hope for a long and fruitful relationship.
Thank you for working together with us to help these children find a positive future.
