Doing medical in a village clinic is very rewarding. Some of the people have never encountered a health care provider. This causes a very interesting day at a clinic. The mothers hope for medicine to get them through every situation for the next year. It is very difficult to ignore this desperation. We might feel the same way given the same situation.
The people will wait all day to be seen just for advice about a headache. We are amazed at the happiness of being able to get some vitamins for their children.
It is supporters like yourselves that make it possible to bring some joy into the lives of people who have no hope. Bringing hope is a very empowering feeling. It is also a feeling of understanding myself and how I can never understand what these people are feeling.
It is in these situations that we learn about what it means to be on the planet with people that need our help. All we have to do is what we can to give a person a better life.
