A prop plane from Tegucigalpa, Honduras to La Ceiba on the north shore of Honduras and then to the Island of Utila, Honduras. After arrival a taxi took me to "Frankies dock." It was from there that a man I had never met came on a boat to transfer me to Pigeon Caye. No land, only water. One sidewalk from one end of Caye to the other. Houses planted in the shallow ocean floor in the Carribean. No cars or bikes, only boats.
Nine hundred people, without the benefit of a a bank or store, only the fish in the sea. I provided healthcare to all who asked and 178# of medicine and supplies. It was a wonderful experience as they treated me like family. We even had a breast cancer walk one night for one of the islanders.
It was hot, very hot, even though it was October. People showed up to feed me and fill me with fluids without asking. A young girl gave up her bed so I would have a place to sleep. Now I ask you ? Who received the blessing? Was it me or them? It is definitely a toss up.
Thanks to your donations I am able to do this amount of travel to help people that are literally off the map. Thank you for participating in this project.
