Year 8 of the clinic is complete. This year 3,938 patients were seen and given treatment and appropriate medications. This brings our total to 35,428 patients seen since the clinic opened. Most of these patients would not of received care otherwise. This was all done through generous donations from people like yourselves.
This week 9 containers of food were delivered to our warehouse due to the efforts of Tim Hines, our Executive Director. These 9 containers of food represent 31.2 million meals for the poor. They are complete with all the vitamins and minerals and essential amino acids needed in a daily diet.
Nutrition is one of the most important parts of healthcare. Dr. Olga and the staff at Clinica de Esperanza educate the patients on the importance of nutrition to their everyday well being. The clinic will supervise the food distribution and monitor weight and vital signs during this process.
It is very difficult to watch people who are hungry. Something we have probably never experienced. They are slow walking, slow talking and rarely look up from the ground. Their bones are prominent under the tightly stretched skin. This makes it impossible to function on a daily basis when trying to work and care for a family.
We are blessed to start out 2016 with food for their stomachs and hope for their hearts.
Join us while we care for those that have no means to care for themselves.
