Dear Donors,
With this report Aleimar would like to share with all of you news and updates about our project “Happy and healthy” managed in collaboration with AMKA, and Italian Organization based in Rome. Our local partner, the Institute of Augustinian Sisters, and in particular Sister Rachelle, reports the local situation and how the dispensary in Sambwa is operating.
During the last months food prices have risen and it is increasingly difficult for the local population to access to sufficient and healthy food. Moreover, Congo is facing the rainy season and a great number of productive activities are stopped, incomes are lover and it is more difficult to move around the country because of the lack of paved roads.
The dispensary helps between 25 and 30 children that suffer from malnutrition and in particular from severe undernutrition. Every day our Country Manger Francesco receives dramatic photos of children in really vulnerable conditions, but here we would like to share with you only the most respectful. The dispensary distributes life-saving food, especially rice and soy-based food that is called “bouille”. In addition, in collaboration with AMKA, a doctor visits the dispensary at least once a month in order to monitor the most sever cases. During the rainy season the logistic organization of these visits is harder, but our effort never stops. The doctors of AMKA have also identified malnourished children affected also by epilepsy. With this project Aleimar and AMKA would like to raise funds in order to buy and distribute food, supplements and medicines to treat epilepsy.
Thanks to your help this will be possible!
Thank you!
