Happy to Say 5 more Kids Now Have Health Hearts

By LARELLE V CATHERMAN | Executive Director

Hi to all of you who are interested in the work of MEDRIX,

One of the most inspiring parts of every MEDRIX trip to Vietnam is witnessing the power of generosity in action. Each year, through the compassion and support of MEDRIX donors and GlobalGiving, children from families too poor to afford life-saving care receive corrective heart surgeries that transform their futures.

During our latest trip, the generosity of donors made it possible for five children to undergo these critical surgeries. Their stories remind us why this work matters so deeply. Just yesterday, we received news that all 5 of the children have recovered successfully from their surgery and been discharged from the hospital.

For these children, generosity means the chance to live healthy, active lives and return to school with hope for the future. For their parents, it brings immense relief—the lifting of a burden they could not carry alone. And for the MEDRIX donors who made this possible, it is the profound satisfaction of knowing that a gift given from one’s abundance has forever changed another human life.

Thank you to all who make the work of making it possible !  Thank you GlobalGiving!
