Dear [donor first name],
The Seeds for a Future Team greatly appreciates your support of our Healthy Kitchens and Cooking for Nutrition project on GlobalGiving. We have decided to merge this project with our main project on GlobalGiving: "Fighting Malnutrition in Rural Guatemala." This change simply recognizes the reality that, in the field, these two projects have always worked together.
The families we work with call our program "Casa Granja," or Backyard Farm. We provide weekly in-home coaching in how to raise nutritious fruits and vegetables, and small animals, poultry or fish for protein. The program also integrates teaching about nutrition, kitchen cleanliness, food preparation hygiene and household first aid as well as environmental awareness and protection.SWITCH OVER & MAKE A DONATION!
The Casa-Granja/Backyard farm is proven way to sustainably grow sufficient and nutritious foods, and reduce illness, to become healthier and more self-reliant. Our followup studies show that 80% continue to use the knowledge and skills they learned and reap the benefits of improved family nutrition and health. Equally important is the joy expressed by women participants that, as they put to use what they learned with us, they are now recognized as important and knowledgeable contributors to family well-being and self-esteem.
YOUR SUPPORT HAS MADE THIS POSSIBLE !!
Thank you very much for your understanding as we streamline our projects on GlobalGiving. On January 31, our Healthy Kitchens and Cooking for Nutrition project will be closed. We hope to welcome you soon as a Rural Family Sponsor at our updated and integrated project, "Fighting Malnutrition In Rural Guatemala."
Warm regards and grateful thanks,
The Seeds for a Future Team
