In Gaza, where families live under devastating destruction and severe shortages of basic supplies, food baskets have become essential for survival. The collapse of supply chains and the destruction of markets have left thousands struggling to secure even the simplest food items. Mothers try to soothe their hungry children, while fathers return home empty-handed after hours of searching for food.
In this dire humanitarian situation, Saed Charity launched a large-scale distribution of food baskets to displaced families in shelters and heavily damaged neighborhoods. The baskets provided two weeks’ worth of essential items, including flour, rice, oil, beans, chickpeas, sugar, tuna, and legumes. Despite dangerous conditions and extensive infrastructure damage, our team worked tirelessly to ensure assistance reached the most vulnerable.
Families welcomed the baskets with deep gratitude, as they provided stability at a time when food had nearly disappeared from the markets. One mother said, “I haven’t been able to cook a full meal in weeks… this basket saved my children from hunger.” Elderly beneficiaries expressed relief knowing they would not go to sleep hungry during such harsh days.
Still, the need remains immense. The number of affected families far exceeds available resources, and with ongoing shortages and restricted access, donor support is the only way to keep these families nourished and resilient.
