In honor of International Women’s Day ATEG is excited to announce that it has just launched our Women’s Skills Training program. An initial group of 15 women from the Faladje IDP Camp in Bamako, Mali have begun a program that will teach them to sew. The program will run 5 days a week for 2 months. Upon completion of the course, they will train additional women. When they master the art, they will form a Women’s Cooperative and create products to sell at local markets. The program is run by the Ministry of Women's Promotion and administered by our partner in Mali ADICOM. This scope of this project includes transportation to the facility in Bamako and meals for the women. The women are all very gracious and realize that this is a big opportunity for them to improve their lives. They asked that we extend a big thank you to the ATEG donors whose generosity made this happen.
