On Saturday, September 22, 2018, senior citizens from the Heliopolis Senior Center had an opportunity to consult with doctors and discuss their patient case history, and they were all properly oriented and medicated. All patients received free medications and they were able to consult with as many specialists as needed. Two Health Campaigns are held per year at the Berrini Medical Center where everything is done with a lot of care and attention.
The Health Campaign is overseen by the Berrini Medical Center which received from the Paulista Medical Association (APM) an Honorable Mention in the 2010 Citizen Doctor Awards – a Social Responsibility project developed in 2010.
Thanks to this project, various medical specialists (in over 17 different medical areas) offer to serve more than 200 senior citizens (twice a year), by giving these older persons support and continuity in their treatment, with the help of, Delboni laboratory which provides periodic laboratory exams, such as blood glucose levels, and cholesterol.
It was a beautiful Saturday full of music, caring volunteers, food, and fun! As seniors waited to be seen by doctors there was live music, storytelling, lunch was catered as well as many snacks and healthy drinks.
We look forward to taking the Heliopolis Seniors to the next Health Campaign in just a few months!
