As mentionned in previous reports, funding for refugees in Burkina has decreased drastically. First the stop of the funding from the US and the priority in Burkina towards the internally displaced persons (IDP): around 40.000 refugees versus over 1.000.000 IDP.
We have 5 refugees at the LAP. They are doing well and it is a pity that we cannot welcome more of them. They were recruted via the local UNHCR and are funded by the NGO CREDO and from your donations.
This year we have also been able to sponsor 3 orphan children from the Police personnel. One girl enroll in the 5th year and 2 boys in the first year.
All the other students at the LAP are coming from poor farmers families. The fact to be able to offer all those children a quality education is very rewarding.
We hope that with your support and the one from new donors we will be able to accept more of the refugees children.
Thank you.
