Help 250 kids in Uruguay

Dear Donor,

These last few months were not easy in our Centers in Montevideo, where we work with more than 250 children, but we could keep our activities going, thanks to people that helped us, as you did! 

According to recent research, the poverty rate in Uruguay increased 38% in only the first three months of the pandemic. This is why during the last year and a half, we had to reinforce our comprehensive care for children and families at social risk, to meet their multiple and increasing needs.

At the beginning of February, after summer break, we came back to face-to-face classes, taking all the health measures. But in March, we were forced to physically close our educational centers, and began working with the families through virtual contact.

Despite that, the centers were opened daily in order to provide food and educational material to the families that were sent to their homes. We also personally received families in our centers to support them financially and emotionally because this pandemic has struggled them in many ways. 

Last May we were able to be back and we opened our centers with the cautions working in small bubbles. Most of the children are back and, even though, we have needed to put in quarantine some of our bubbles, we are happy to have the children back.
