Dear Friends,
The past few months have been filled with exciting activities!
In late May, we had the pleasure of visiting the municipal library located just a few blocks from the CAIF. Story-time, theatrical interpretations by the team, and the use of books play a central role in our classrooms. We place immense value on the children’s engagement with stories and books, fostering a love for reading from an early age.
In June, we held a maintenance day where parents were invited to participate. While family participation is important, this activity also served another purpose: to promote the integration among families and between families and our team. This unstructured space allowed for dialogues and interactions that differ from those in a formal interview setting.
Two or three times a year, sensory camps are set up and visited by all the classrooms. These are special days when the children step out of their everyday classroom. On these days, activities are carried out in the field room, offering sensory experiences as well as other activities such as art, music and dance. This differs from symbolic play, which has corners set up in each classroom.
The photos also show the celebration of the Children's Day, where children were welcome to come dressed up if they wished. A puppet show was performed by members of our team.
Finally, we highlight activities from the Programme of Opportunity Experiences (PEO). This programme takes a break in July for the mid-year evaluations, which are crucial since the programme covers the first two years of life. If any developmental disorder is detected or there are signs that generate concerns, the psychomotor therapists in charge of the programme make the necessary referrals for professional assessment. In August we resumed the workshops after the break.
Thank you for your ongoing support and participation in this project. It means a lot to us and makes a big difference for the children and their families.
Warm regards,
