November 20 marks the International Day of the Rights of the Child, commemorating the adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989. At CAIF Mensajeros de la Paz III, we celebrated this important date by decorating the center with images and texts that highlight children’s rights, creating an environment of awareness and joy for the families we serve.
Our center is located in a neighborhood with a high percentage of children facing food insecurity, so we prioritize providing varied and nutritious meals every day. We also work closely with parents, sharing affordable and healthy recipes to promote better nutrition at home. With the children, we go beyond symbolic play—we cook together! This month, they enjoyed making cookies, and a special highlight was a visit from an educator who is also a beekeeper, who brought fresh honeycomb to share and teach about natural foods.
December marks the end of the school year, and we celebrated with personalized gifts for every child, lovingly handmade by our team. We also organized a final party featuring a musical and circus performance, and the much-anticipated year-end outing with children and their families. These moments are invaluable for fostering community bonds and allowing families to interact in a joyful, inclusive setting.
We are thrilled with how we navigated 2025, a year full of challenges and achievements, including the opening of a new center that brought countless opportunities to serve more children and families. The smiles, learning experiences, and shared moments reaffirm our commitment to building a better future for every child.
Your support makes these initiatives possible. Together, we are creating safe spaces where children’s rights are celebrated, families are strengthened, and communities thrive.
