More than 25% of the schools are closed in Burkina Faso because of security problem.
Among our 12 villages, 3 were affected. In 2 of them we had to close also our nursery schools.
The situation is slowly getting better. All 3 villages expect to have their primary school reopened starting October 1st 2024 with the start of the new school year.
We have been able to reopened one of the 2 nursrey schools in March 2024.
Some of the children of those schools have been going to the school of the villages where their parents took refuge, but many did not. It will be a major task to get back the children in school again and to help them catch up with studying.
As mentionned before, a school lunch is a strong motivator to go to school. It is even more true when the parents back in their villages have lost everything and are struggling to get by.
Your support to help provide food once a day at school is essential, especially for those 3 villages.
Help us help the children go to school.
Thank you
