Help 3 750 rural children have a meal at school

In Burkina Faso the US was providing food to all the primary schools for at least a third of the school year. Corn was coming from the US and oil was bought locally.

With the closing of USAID this program has stopped. This is only one of the impact of the stop of USAID. 

It is clear that USAID could have been managed much better with more funds reaching the needing people instead of being spent in the layers of the organisation. It is also clear that it is important for people to find ressources themselves if possible.

However an abrupt stop to aid is not the solution to poverty alliviation. Many people will suffer or dy due to the decision of closing USAID.

On our side we are not doing very good in gathering funds for the lunch program in primary schools. The school year is reaching its end and we have been able to provide food only to 2 villages and only for 3 months.

In early 2023 two of the villages we are supporting have been attacked by terrorists and the population had to flee to the town of Bobo Dioulasso or other nearby villages.

In April 2024, the population started to go back to their villages and in November 2024, the primamry schools were reopened.

The families have lost everything and they have little food. It was important to supply the food for the lunch at school to compensate the lack of it at home and to motivate the children to come back to school.

Thanks to your donations and other generous organsiation this was possible early January 2025. The funding we have allow to supply food only for 3 months.

We also provided at the same time books which had been destroyed by the terrorists.

We would like to supply food for the last 3 months of the school year 2024-2025 (april to June).
