Early education is essential for all children. The awakening of the children and the learning of social skills in a friendly environment will help the child all his life. We have built nursery schools in rural villages and we need to help the women committee running the school to pay for their running costs: teachers, snacks, healthcare and hygiene.
Most of rural children are attending primary school directly from home. This is often a schock for them to get use to the class discipline when the only thing they know are the fields where the parents are working. In rural area up to 40% of children are abandonning the school during the 6 years program of primary school. We are planning to support 120 children from the nursery schools of Bona and from Fina.
By having children go through nursery school, they will learn social skills which will help them to be at ease in primary school. They will also learn some basics which will help them to be ready The nursery school is one year for children of 5 years old. There is a snack in the morning which help the children to be better fed. We have opened the first rural nursery school 12 years ago and the attrition during the primary school is around 20% today.
Education is the base of all development. Thanks to the nursery schools the children: - will stay and will be successful in primary school - can keep studying in secondary school in order to have more possibilities for their future
