Progress and Activities During the Reporting Period

By Johannes Shikuloh | Project Leader

Progress and Activities During the Reporting Period

During the period under review, the project did not receive any funding to support the implementation of planned project activities. Despite this financial constraint, ASPOVC continued to engage and prepare communities in anticipation of the upcoming flooding period.

During the early months of November and December, community members were engaged and motivated to strengthen their preparedness for possible flooding and related emergencies. The focus was on encouraging households to take proactive measures and to understand the importance of preparedness before flooding occurs.

A key message throughout the community engagement was the importance of communities becoming champions of their own safety and the safety of their families. Community members were encouraged to take responsibility for identifying risks, preparing their households, supporting vulnerable family members, and sharing safety information with others in their communities.

Although the absence of project funding limited the scale of activities that could be undertaken, the continued community engagement helped maintain awareness and preparedness around flooding risks. ASPOVC remains committed to supporting vulnerable communities and strengthening their capacity to respond to emergencies, subject to the availability of resources.
