We conclude this year at Juventus feeling grateful with all our donors who make this social program a running reality every day.
We enjoyed the teambuilding gathering for this semester’s closure along with 30 of our recipient and three Juventus graduates at a wonderful place in Cajicá. It was a day full of laughter and self-discovery. We started off with trust building, instruction following and teamwork activities. Shortly after, we discussed friendship and involved in playful activities that helped strengthen the relationships, knowledge, and integration of our recipients. The day ended with a walk around the place to connect with nature and spend time with the variety of animals that lived there, such as horses, sheep, and goats.
Furthermore, on November 15th, we organized a STEAM workshop where vocational explorations took place. They were mostly related to science and technology fields of work and fueled by curiosity hand in hand with GGL.
Additionally, from November 20th to 25th, during our project presentation week, the Juventus women showed what they had learned on the main three competences that were developed (knowing-how, knowing-that, knowing-to-do) and each one of the classes they were a part of. For instance, at the entrepreneurship class they shared the market research studies they made for their small business start project. Moreover, at the art and digital skills class we carried out art exhibitions of the pieces and photographs made by the girls.
We are proud to tell you that, on December 10th, we held the Emprende tu Sueño graduation ceremony. Eleven of our recipients graduated from the social program and will start a new stage of their lives as university students. Two of the new graduates, live in Medellin and receive higher education financial aids from other organizations. One of them got a scholarship because of her great performance at the Colombian standardized high school exit exam, Prueba Saber 11. Eight out of all our new graduates, received one of the scholarships we award for outstanding academic performance at both the program and their high schools along with their Prueba Saber 11 scores.
We are excited to start 2023 together with our recipients, donors, and volunteers like you who drive us to be better and keep dreaming bigger so we can change more lives through women’s comprehensive education in Colombia.
