As part of our ongoing commitment to child protection, the Elite Star Foundation has continued to engage with schools and communities across North-Central Nigeria. In this phase of our intervention, we have maintained consistent communication with community leaders and school principals in the schools previously visited. This has helped us deepen relationships and reinforce our child protection message at the grassroots level.
A key strategy we’ve adopted is the use of storytelling to promote child safety. Through carefully designed storytelling sessions, students are encouraged to share their experiences in a safe and supportive environment. These sessions have not only given children a voice but have also opened up pathways for early intervention and support where needed.
In an effort to scale the impact of this method, we are on the verge of partnering with ChildsPlay International. This partnership will enable us to expand our storytelling initiative, allowing for a more structured and creative approach to helping children understand personal safety, boundaries, and how to seek help.
Our team also shares regular safety tips during school visits, reinforcing prevention and protection messages in ways that are engaging and easy for children to understand.
The program has shown promising results, with increasing openness among students to speak out and active participation from teachers in creating safer school environments. We are encouraged by the progress made so far and remain committed to ensuring that every child feels seen, heard, and protected.
