Help 500 Child Labourers Return to School

By Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri | Project Leader

Dear Friends and Supporters,

We are deeply thankful to our kind sponsors who have donated to this project so far. Your support has given us a small but meaningful start toward helping children trapped in labour return to the classroom. While the funds received are not yet enough to begin full implementation for all 500 children, we are pleased to share that we will sponsor two students in the next academic session using the donations we have received.

Many children in Nigeria still spend their days working instead of learning. They sell goods on the streets, carry heavy loads in markets, and work long hours on farms or construction sites. Most of them dropped out of school because their families could not afford the small but important costs—school fees, uniforms, and books. Sadly, this leaves them stuck in a cycle of hardship, missing the chance to build a better future.

Our goal is to cover school fees and provide uniforms and supplies for 500 children in both primary and secondary schools. Each term, we will also monitor their attendance and support their families to keep them in class. Education remains one of the strongest ways to protect children from abuse and child labour.

Even though we are starting small, we believe every child’s story matters. The two students who will resume school next term are the first step in a much larger mission.

We thank our sponsors for their trust and generosity, and we remain hopeful that more people will join us. With more support, we can expand this effort and give hundreds of children a fair chance to learn, grow, and leave child labour behind for good.

Best regards,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
