Dear Donors,
Thank you for the interest shown in the Help 500 Market Women See Clearly Again project. At this time, the project has not yet received financial contributions, so the planned eye care outreach has not started.
Across many local markets in Nigeria, women rely on their eyesight to measure goods, count money, read labels, and serve customers throughout the day. When vision begins to decline, these daily activities become difficult. Many market women continue working with blurred sight because they cannot afford professional eye care or corrective glasses.
Poor vision can affect both safety and income. Some women struggle to recognize currency notes clearly, while others find it hard to keep track of stock or read small print on product labels. These challenges may reduce their ability to work effectively and may also expose them to mistakes or financial losses.
This project plans to provide comprehensive eye examinations for 500 market women. Qualified eye care professionals will assess each participant and provide prescriptions where needed. Women diagnosed with vision problems will receive properly fitted glasses to help restore clear sight.
In addition to receiving corrective lenses, participants will also learn basic information about eye health and how to care for their vision. With clearer sight, these women can return to their work with greater confidence and improved ability to manage their businesses.
We appreciate the attention this initiative has received and remain hopeful that support will grow so this eye care outreach can begin soon. With the help of compassionate donors, many hardworking women can regain the clear vision they need for their daily lives and livelihoods.
Sincerely,
Joy Ojochogwu Etubi
