Primary Health Care Centers in the villages (Orokam, Emoriko, Okpudu -Ogene, Agwodaba, Gurku, Emakoji) where we work among rural people are in bad condition of structure and management. It becomes more painful when a pregnant woman dies from ordinarily a preventable death on account of giving birth. The mortality rate of children under age 5 is also very high. This is where your donation comes in handy to help stop morbidity and mortality rate and a whole community is helped.
Government negligence, individual poverty, lack of skilled health workers, and timely information is largely responsible for poor health care delivery in the communities. The pregnant women and the children suffer it most. They die needless deaths and this affects the whole community well being. Strengthening the healthcare system at the grassroots requires the input of all of us.
This project will provide in (5) remote communities; The services of skilled Health workers (Doctors, Nurses/Midwives, CHEWs, and Lab Technicians). Encourages pregnant women to go for ante-natal. Encourages family planning and child spacing, through seminars and community engagement; Deliver essential medicine and items to 500 expectant mothers and 1500 children under the age of 5 in one year. Provides access to secondary service in the case of Cesarean section(C&S) and nutrition.
1. In the long-term how families, communities, and nation fair economically is determined by the well-being of pregnant women, nursing mothers, and the children under 5. 2. The hard-to-reach will be mobilized to join the world and national drive for universal health coverage which ordinarily can not be achieved unless pregnant women and children are prioritized. 3. Avert the needless death of a mother and/or the loss of children. 4. A strong people-centered primary health care will emerge.
