Did you know that your support of this project doesn’t just help runaway girls? It also helps girls and young women who may be vulnerable to human trafficking and exploitation.
Take for example, Rajathi, whose real name we have protected. At the age of just 16, Rajathi was sexually assaulted. Now aged 19, she remains both physically and emotionally scarred. With the help of Prerana, a local NGO,Rajathi sought justice under The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POSCO).
Progress has been slow. The case is ongoing and only adds to the distress and trauma she has already experienced. Prerana works closely with this project, and when Rajathi turned 18, she became involved in our activities.
Rajathi’s dream for a long time has been to enter entertainment. Acting, singing, and performing helps give her confidence. In the project, Rajathi particularly enjoys debating and engaging with all activities relating to civil and constitutional rights.
Rajathi is a confident and engaging speaker. The activities and added confidence have inspired her to enrol in college. Thanks to your ongoing support, you are helping Rajathi rebuild her confidence after the most traumatic of events and to edge closer to her dream. Thank you.
