Most pregnant women and new moms are affected by the Covid-19 lock down and its economic effects in South Africa. we are particularly concerned about moms who are pregnant or gave birth in the lock down as pregnant women are not supported by the child support grant and administrative delays might mean it will take longer usual for new moms to access grants.
The Glow Movement started a help 800 new moms affected by covid-19 campaign to help new moms and pregnant access baby essentials and food vouchers. we rely wholeheartedly on the goodwill and kindness of people and these funds have gone a long way in helping us reach more moms and babies in our community.
one way to achieve this goal is by providing maternity packs to moms who are not able to afford the basic essentials at the time of their baby's arrival especially now in the lock down. these packs include a baby grow, vest, beanie, blanket, socks, nappies, wet wipes, bum cream, aqueous cream, baby soap, face cloth, maternity sanitary pads and breast pads and food parcels.
