Meet Hasima, an 18-year-old girl living in the slums of India. Like many children in the area, Hasima faces challenges that make it difficult for her to get an education.
As migrants, they don't have any permanent place to live and often end up residing in makeshift homes made out of old collected materials. Her family moves frequently, making it impossible for her to attend a traditional school.
There was once a time when Hasima attended a government school but due to the cost of fees and supplies, she was forced to drop out at 10 years old. With a sick father and a mother struggling as a housemaid, the family often didn't have enough to eat let alone give Hasima an education.
But you changed all that for Hasima when you invested in our slum schools! By making quality education available to Hasima right in her neighborhood, you have transformed her future.
These schools are specifically tailored for the lifestyle of migrant children, allowing them to gain an education at a faster rate and still be able to work to support the family. Because of you, Hasima has the chance to get an education and break the cycle of poverty.
Hasima said she couldn't be happier with the quality of teaching and all the exciting things she is learning. Her favorite subject is English, and she is excelling academically. Thank you for giving Hasima and other kids like her the chance to earn an education!
