lndian Association for the Blind (lAB),based in Madurai, South India, is a well-known non-profit
organization working at the grassroots level for the education, employment and rehabilitation of people with visual challenges. It was established in 1985 by visually challenged activist Late Mr. S.M.A.Jinnah and a group of like-minded visually challenged people to provide comprehensive education, employment and rehabilitation opportunities for socio-economically disempowered visually challenged children and adults with a special focus on those living in rural areas.
The donations we have been receiving from donors through GlobalGiving have been highly beneficial. Each project makes us more experienced in terms of getting donations keeping in mind our standards of providing quality education, training, employment and rehabilitation facilities for the visually impaired form rural areas. The timely help from your side has been very useful to us.
We look forward to raising donations for this project. Currently, we have 10 students pursuing their Master’s degree at IAB. Through this project, we aim to educate them. They can achieve great heights in life by way of your help. Their dream of leading a life of self-reliance and dignity will be fulfilled. With the donations we receive, we will be able to provide for their semester fees, food, living and educational materials.
