Dear supporter,
On the 4th October 2013, volunteers and staff on Curieuse Island in the Seychelles ran a challenge to raise funds for the SSPCA. "Dig for Digby’s Dubloons” was a day of challenges and quests around the island, with the ultimate goal of unearthing Digby’s hidden treasure. This was the GVI Charitable Trusts; first event in support of the SSPCA and their commendable cause, and we hope this will be the first of many under the newly-founded partnership between us at GVI CT and the SSPCA
The proceeds, along with donations from supporters such as yourself, are already being put to good use. Currently the SSPCA, a small organisation with limited resources run a small clinic on the main island of Mahe. Unfortunately, this means the care and treatment that The SSPCA provide is limited to the animals the organisation can access on Mahe. Thanks to the proceeds raised by GVI volunteers, we have been able to cover the travel expenses for the SSPCA to run a mobile clinic with eleven volunteers to the neighbouring Island of Praslin. The clinic was a huge success with 33 animals being treated and cared for over the duration of the day. This marks the start of a promising partnership between the SSPCA and GVI working together to care for the mistreated and neglected animals of The Seychelles.
We look forward to bringing you lots more news in the future.
Thank you again for your support.
