Dear Supporter,
Our partner on our animal care projects in theSeychelle is The Seychelles Society for the prevention of cruelty to animals (SSPCA). The SSPCA is currently the only organization attempting to deal with the countries stray population animals that roam the beaches and streets of the Seychelles. With no other organization in the country tackling the issue of mistreated, abused or neglected animals, the SSPCA’s task is a large one.
Over recent years, the GVI team based on Curieuse Island have continued to support the important work of theSSPCA through fundraising events and campaigns. 2014 was a particularly successful year, with the GVI Curieuse staff and volunteers managing to fundraise close to $1000 from two charity events! Both events were huge successes not only in terms of the money that was raised, but also in terms of the amount of fun that was had by all who were involved.
Both events were huge successes and have meant that we are able to continue to support SPPCA as best we can. We will be using the funds raised from 2014 to purchase vital drugs and equipment for the SSPCA ‘Sterilisation Kits’ that are used during their very popular Sterilisation Programme Clinics. These take place on Mahe and Praslin island at various times of the year and are supported by volunteer veterinary staff from overseas and from within the Seychelles.
The GVI staff and volunteers are all very proud and happy to continue to work with such a brilliant organisation and to continue to contribute as best we can to their amazing and unique work. We are already planning fundraising events for the second half of 2015 so stay tuned - we hope to top these achievements with more amazing results and support for SPPCA!
Thank you for your continued support on this project.
Kind Regards,
