A successful Charity Challenge

Dear Supporter,

Everybody loves a Charity Challenge. We get to host a fun, often silly, sometimes competitive and always creative challenge. All in the name of raising funds for causes that we care about. Here on Curieuse island we love that!

All that the money that we raised in our latest challenge are used to purchase medicines and other supplies for the Seychelles Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA). They aim to provide care and treatment for all the stray, neglected, mistreated and abused animals in the Seychelles. By providing care to animals in need and sterilisation of stray animals, the SSPCA is making a major contribution to tackling the issue of these poor creatures who would otherwise have no hope.

Earlier this year the team on Curieuse held a challnege we dubbed 'The Curieuse Amazing Race'. Like the TV show, this charity challenge consisted of several events located all around Curieuse Island, with three teams racing for glory!

Tasks were varied from passing an orange across a palm left stem, to guessing how long one of the local giant tortoise's shell was to hunting for red-painted rocks on the sea in the sea. On completion of each challenge, teams received one or more seashells, depending on their position, which were used later to bargain for easy or medium questions in a final quiz.

The event was a great success, thoroughly enjoyed by all. Most importantly it raised over £300 to add to the total donations to the SSPCA. GVI Curieuse will shortly be holding our next Charitable Trust fundraising event which will hopefully be even more successful in raising money for this very worthwhile cause, so watch this space!

Thank you for your continued support and interest in the SSPCA. We couldn't do it without you!

All the best,

GVI Seychelles

The happy teams!
