Dear Supporters,
As the year draws to a close, we’d like to share with you a summary of our highlights and what we have managed to achieve this year.
We have done a number of fundraising events this year to raise money for our partners, the Seychelles SPCA. The primary aim of collecting money for this project is so that we are able to contribute funds towards the annual sterilisation and vaccination drives that the SSPCA holds here in the Seychelles.
With the money that you donated, we were able to buy veterinary drugs for the SSPCA vets to be able to offer sterilisation procedures for 100 animals.
Organising the purchase, shipping and delivery of such drugs, as well as the coordination of all personnel involved, including vets, anaesthetists and vet technicians, caused various set-backs meaning the event had to be re-scheduled several times. However, when the event was eventually held on Praslin it allowed local people to bring along pets and have them neutered free of charge. This helps to reduce the number of unwanted animals being born and ultimately reducing the number of strays on the islands. It was also a great chance for the staff and volunteers here at GVI Curieuse to be able to work closely with SSPCA, getting involved with such a worthwhile animal welfare project in a local community.
We still have funds remaining that we are going to be using in 2017 for another sterilisation clinic!
Thank you for you continued support during the year.
We wish you a happy and prosperous 2017 and look forward to bringing you news of our further successes with the SSPCA here in the Seychelles.
With Gratitude,
GVI Seychelles
