Just hours after the 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck Central Morocco more than 2,000 people were declared dead and another 2,000 were injured. Volunteers and aid are needed for search and rescue operations, emergency medical care, and food and shelter. The Airlink team is already coordinating relief efforts with our NGO partners to send shipments and responders, from the US, Israel, Canada, the UK, and Germany as a start, where NGOs have been requested by the government of Morocco.
At least 2,000 people have lost their lives, more than 2,059 are injured, villages have been completely destroyed, and infrastructure has been severely damaged. This includes the destruction of historic buildings in Marrakesh, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
