On September 8, 2023, a significant earthquake measuring 6.8 on the magnitude scale struck central Morocco, marking the country's most powerful seismic event in over a century.
In swift response, Airlink promptly initiated efforts to assist our esteemed relief partners who were authorized to offer aid in the affected region. The response posed considerable challenges due to restricted entry into the Atlas Mountains, which bore the brunt of the devastation.
The most urgent needs, which persist till this day, encompass essential provisions such as shelter materials, medical assistance, sustenance, and potable water.
Within the first couple of weeks of the response, Airlink facilitated free flights for 15 responders on behalf of eight different NGO partners. This includes Disaster Tech Lab, Fuel Relief Fund, GAiN, GlobalMedic, Humanity First UK, IsraAID, Human Initiative, and Grenzenlose Wärme.
Addtionally, Airlink has assisted in the transportation of 2,210 kg of aid to support efforts on the ground.
Thank you to our GlobalGiving donors for supporting our relief efforts!
