When the devastating wildfires struck Maui in August, Airlink collaborated with its NGO partners and airline partners to offer complimentary flights for responding personnel to access communities in Maui.
To date, Airlink has helped transport 105 skilled relief responders.
The initial organization that received support was ITDRC, whose volunteers collaborated to organize an Assessment Team equipped with initial means of communication, aiming to establish WiFi connectivity in four shelters located in Maui.In the subsequent months, Airlink aided in the transportation of volunteers who offered prompt relief, as well as later-stage activities like debris removal, provision of shelter, and recovery efforts, once the wildfires have been brought under control.
On the cargo movement side, Airlink helped delvier over 25,000 lbs of relief supplies.
Check out our video from the tarmac where we delivered aid in collaboration with our Global Signature Lead Partner, United Airlines. The aid moved on behalf of our NGO partner, Convoy of Hope, assisted 4,000 people impacted by the wildfires.
Thank you to our GlobalGiving donors that helped make this response possible!
