Cory was living his dream as a study abroad student when his experience in South Korea was shattered by sexual assault.
Far from home, navigating trauma as an LGBTQ-identified young man, he felt isolated, overwhelmed, and unsure where to turn for help. Especially in a foreign country where he did not speak the language and where homophobic stereotypes are often held by law enforcement.
In his most vulnerable moment, Pathways provided immediate crisis support, safety planning, coordination with trusted partners, and assistance to help him return safely to the United States.
Today, Cory is back on home soil surrounded by support, affirming care, and the space to begin healing. Because of your generosity, he was not left to carry this trauma alone — he was met with compassion, protection, and the chance to reclaim stability and hope for his future.
